The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the HookStop Travel Center Monday, February 16, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 43 in attendance. The “RED BOX” furnished the eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits, coffee and drinks. The food was outstanding and they will be back, and Chair Johnny thanked the HookStop for letting them have their weekly Veterans meeting at their business. After the meeting, they went to Pine Trail Cottages manufacturing plant and were taken on a tour of the plant and got to visit several of the custom-built homes and cottages, one being the 400 sq. ft. “Magnolia” model. Pine Trail Cottages had its grand opening in January 2026 marking them as a new, local and specialized home builder in this area. Pine Trail Cottages is located at 190 Pine Tree Trail, Swainsboro.
