Addie Nadean Smith Sherrod, age 90, resident of Swainsboro, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 14, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Nary officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend Michael Bailey officiating. Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home.

Dean was born October 4, 1934, in Sevierville, TN, to the late Sam and Sue Cates Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Swainsboro. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sherrod is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sherrod; five sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include her children, William Sherrod (Leisha), Rhonda Johnson (Bobby Wayne), Debbie Wilson (Larry), Tammy Jeffers and Tim Sherrod; grandchildren, Jaime Purvis, Korey Sherrod, Jesse Ervin, Cassie Way, Kristie Brantley, Derrick Wilson, Tiphany Jeffers, Dustin Jeffers, Adam Sherrod and Catelyn McCarty; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Lorene Slimp of Knoxville, TN.

Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
