Alvin B. Lloyd, affectionally known as Al, age 69, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.

Al was born July 9, 1955, in Swainsboro, to the late Tealang Lloyd, Sr. and the late Iomia Harmon Lloyd. Al was educated in the Emanuel County School System and was a 1973 Graduate. He was a devoted member of The Greater Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. Alvin worked many years beside his father at their family business (T. Lloyd Scrap and Metal). To know him, was to love him. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. Al was full of wit and vivacity. He prided himself on being creative with his style of fashion. In his spare time, Al enjoyed fishing, watching television, listening to gospel music, learning to play musical instruments and most of all, collecting objects in which he could find a use for almost anything. Mr. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Elmer S. Lloyd; son, Marcus Alan Vinson; siblings, Tealang Lloyd, Jr., Debra Lloyd and Vernita J. Lloyd; and a special uncle, Charlie W. Harmon.

Mr. Lloyd leaves to cherish his loving memories with his seven daughters, Meyoshi Worthen, Erica Worthen, Kenosha Brown (Travis), all of Swainsboro, Latonya Jackson (Daryl) of Warner Robins, LaShonda Edmond (David) of Twin City, Melissa Broadwater of Hephzibah and LaTreasa Vinson of Evans; one son, Eric Worthen of Swainsboro; four brothers, Bobby Lloyd, Calvin Lloyd, both of Swainsboro, Tommy Lloyd of Augusta and Willie James Lloyd of Atlanta; five sisters, Myra Gooden (James), Cheryl L. Boston (Carlton), all of Atlanta, Vernell D. King, Delane L. Washington and Wyomi L. Brown, all of Swainsboro; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; uncle, Eddie Harmon (Ola Mae) of Chicago, IL; aunt, Doris Harmon Davis (Joe) of Swainsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
