Mr. Archie Lee Brinson, Sr., age 73, passed away Friday, December 6, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, December 11, at 12 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bennie Brison presiding. Interment followed in Green Cemetery.

Archie was born June 25, 1951, in Metter, to the late Frank and Ludie Brinson. He received his elementary and high school education in Emanuel County and furthered his education at Fort Valley State College. Archie received his emergency Teacher’s Certification and taught at Wadley Georgia School for several years, and later obtained employment at Thermo King as a manufacturing supervisor where he worked for 38 years. Upon moving to Cross-Green, he joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon, chairman of the Trustee Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, member of the choir and custodian. Archie served as fire chief for the Cross-Green Community Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and yard work and took pleasure in artwork and spending time with his family.

Mr. Archie leaves to cherish his memories with his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Joanne Carr; children, Archie Brinson, Jr. (Christy) Asa Brinson, Sr. (Ashiana) and Jonina Brinson; brother, Frank Brinson, Jr. (Rhunette); grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
