Mr. Bobby G. Thurman, 90, of Laurens, SC, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, at Hospice of Laurens County. Funeral service was held Friday, November 1, at 3 p.m. in the chapel at Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bedgood and Rev. Mark Hardin officiating. Interment followed in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum. Family received friends Friday, November 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Clay Braswell, Chris Braswell, Preston McTier, Shawn McTier, David Bedgood and David Thurman.

Bobby was born August 27, 1934, in Douglas, to the late Boyce Thurman and Lollie Mae Traynham Thurman. He liked baseball and fishing and enjoyed gardening. Bobby worked for the Coca-Cola Company as a service technician. He was a member of Eastwood Church of God. Mr. Thurman is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Bedgood Thurman; daughter, Teresa Usry; son, Ricky Thurman; eight brothers; and three sisters.

Mr. Thurman is survived by his daughter, Lisa Braswell (Don) of Laurens, SC; sister, Joyce Gillis of Nickles; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
