Mrs. Bonnie Faye Love Leslie, age 77, of the Kenfield Community, entered into her eternal home on Monday, August 12, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 14 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wood Funeral Home. Family received friends Tuesday, August 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date.

Bonnie was born February 7, 1947, the first of ten children, to the late Joseph Manson Love and Evar Lee Johnson Hughes Love. She attended schools in both Emanuel and Treutlen Counties and held many jobs in her life, working as a cashier at Paige’s Red and White in Swainsboro and as a bookkeeper for Leslie Construction before obtaining her associate in nursing from Swainsboro Technical College in 1983. Bonnie worked for Emanuel County Hospital for several years. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook. Bonnie also loved gospel music and enjoyed working in her yard and garden. Additionally, she was an avid animal lover and bred small dogs and cats at her home until her illness prevented it. Bonnie was a member of Oak Park Church of God. Mrs. Leslie is preceded in death by her parents; husband(s); granddaughter, Brittany Shay Slater; brothers, Earl Hughes and Joe Love, Jr.; and sisters, Mary Clark, Pattie Willis and Essie Harville.

Survivors include her daughters, Angie Shoemake Hayes of Kenfield Community and Tina Nunn of Oak Park; son, Lloyd Slater of Kenfield Community; grandchildren, Tori Cyree, Michelle McCumbers, Tony McCumbers, Dillion Slater, Michael and Justin Shoemake; sisters, Doshia Smith of Soperton, Jessie Pearl Moore of Adrian, Pearlie Clyde Tanner of Soperton, Peggy Lynn of Soperton, Martha Hayes of Bonaire, Joyce Ray of Reidsville, Jenny Usher of Lyons and Connie Sheffield of Oak Park; and brother, Emory Love of Empire Alabama.

Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
