On Saturday November 11, the Brier Creek Artillery, consisting of six cannons and seven crew members, traveled to Harmon Park in Swainsboro to attend the Veterans Service of Remembrance and Appreciation Service. Those Skunkers were Commander Steve Burke, Dess Smith III, Lee Herron, Don Bazemore, Alton McCloud, Bernard Martin, Alton Reynolds and Gary Mason. During the event, the Brier Creek Artillery fired a 3-round volley of their six cannons for a total of 18 shots, after the names of the six Veterans of the Library who have passed on were read and a plaque was presented to a family member. Taps were then played by Billy Sasser.
