Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association holds banquet

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, members of the Brier Creek Revolutionary War Battlefield Association, Inc. and guests held their annual meeting and banquet at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro at 6 p.m. With President Stephen Hammond presiding, they had 53 in attendance. President Hammond called the meeting to order and then asked the Commander of the GA Society Southern District Color Guard Steve Burke for the Presentation of Colors. After the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairman of the Board Tommy Christopher, President Hammond welcomed everyone. Greetings was then brought by the SAR Senior Vice President William J. Tankersley and the NSDAR Georgia Society First Vice Regent Amy Pittman Lawson. The blessing was said by the Chaplain, Brier Creek Chapter Bernard Martin and everyone enjoyed a wonderful buffet. After the annual meeting was held by President Hammond, he asked for the Mill Creek President Randy Jones to introduce the speaker, LTC Leslie Chandler, GaArmy who talked about “Remembering Well”. After the speakers’s presentation, President Hammond called on Chaplain Bernard Martin to provide the benediction.
