The Brier Creek Skunk Brigade traveled to Camden, SC, Saturday, August 16, to participate in the 245th Anniversary of the Battle of Camden event sponsored by the SCSSAR, Joseph Kershew Chapter DAR and the Hobkirk Hill Chapter DAR at 10 a.m. at the Camden Battlefield and Longleaf Pine Preserve. Members of the Skunk Brigade attending were Commander Steve Burke, Lee Herron, Don Bazemore and Ted Walker with about 245 in attendance. They presented wreaths for the Wiregrass Chapter, Brier Creek Chapter, Patrick Karr Rangers Chapter and the Henry Laurens Chapter. Camden Battlefield Association fired three cannons three times each to celebrate the brave American Revolution soldiers that fought for our freedoms that we enjoy today.
