The Brier Creek Skunk Brigade traveled to Edgefield, SC on Saturday, August 2, to participate in the American Revolutionary Monument Marking event sponsored by the Edgefield County 250 Committee. The event was held at the Edgefield Court House Square to celebrate a new memorial monument. Members of the Skunk Brigade attending were Commander Steve Burke, Lee Herron, Alton McCloud, John Joyner, Stephen Riggs and Ted Walker with about 225 in attendance, and they presented wreaths for the Wiregrass Chapter, Brier Creek Chapter, Patrick Karr Rangers Chapter and the Henry Laurens Chapter. Three cannons were fired three times each to celebrate the brave American Revolution soldiers that fought for our freedoms that we enjoy today.
