The Brier Creek Skunk Brigade traveled to Excelsior to participate in the Jones Family Reunion held at the Excelsior Baptist Church on Saturday August 9, with 55 in attendance. The Jones Family invited the Skunk Brigade to attend their reunion because their family goes back to the American Revolution. Commander Steve Burke, Lee Herron and Dess Smith III attended their reunion, participated in the fellowship, ate a great family meal, then fired Lee Herron’s 6-pounder Field Cannon three times to end the reunion.
