The Brier Creek Chapter held its monthly meeting Thursday night, May 1, at Walls Diner at 6:30 p.m. With President Lee Herron presiding, they had 15 in attendance. The speaker for the evening, Allen Burton, presented his program on Benjamin Franklin. Allen is a retired LTC in the U.S. Army and is a history professor at Augusta University in Augusta. He and his wife live in Washington, GA and he is a member of the Washington/Wilkes Chapter of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution. President Lee then inducted the latest member, Bob Good, into the Chapter and right after that, he introduced Compatriot Garrett McDaniel to the Chapter who just transferred from another Georgia Society Chapter. President Lee then presented Sgt-at-Arms Don Bazemore with the Frederica Naval Battle Chapter flag streamer that he received for presenting the Chapter wreath at the event on April 19, 2025, at St. Simons Island.
