Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Celia Viann Anderson Hendley, 86, of Swainsboro, who passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. Graveside service was held Monday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Blundale Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Larry Jennings officiating. Family received friends Monday, June 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Blundale Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hendley was born July 19, 1938, in Swainsboro, to Carlton Hillery Anderson and Bessie Kirkland Anderson. She was a 1956 graduate of Swainsboro High School. Celia was a lifelong member of Blundale Baptist Church. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hendley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy C. Hendley; and sister, Linda Holbrook.

Mrs. Hendley is survived by her son, Tim (Tammy) Hendley of Swainsboro; daughter, Pamela (Lyn) Keyton of Twin City; sister, Becky Yawn of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Ashley (Jody) Cowart, Emily Hendley, Chris (Payce) Keyton, Lauren (West) Bedgood and Miley (Levi) Carter; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the residents and staff at Southern Manor at Candler who made their mom’s last year’s special and filled with love.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to: Blundale Baptist Church, 2675 US 1 South, Swainsboro, GA 30401.

Durden Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
