The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, April 1, at the Rustic Grille at 6:30 p.m. With President Paul Cerpovicz presiding, they had 11 in attendance including one guest. Jeff Palmer won the apple cake and Dess Smith III won the Domino’s pizza. President Paul used this meeting as an opportunity to talk about things the club is doing or will be doing. President Paul, Treasurer David Gribbin, Secretary Tim Goodman and Immediate Past President Cheryl Goodman attended the Kiwanis Mid-Year Training this past Saturday at Middle Georgia State University in Macon. The Division 17 Rally will be April 5 at 11 a.m. at the Statesboro Kiwanis Club Fairgrounds and the Division 17 Council will meet at 10 a.m. before the Rally. They are going to be placing one of their Little Free Libraries at the Recreation Center, and others will be placed all around Swainsboro. Cheryl announced that Pre-K Fun Day is scheduled for April 18 at 11 a.m. They will host the Knotty Pine 5K Run on May 3, at the Pine Tree Festival starting in the parking lot across from First Baptist Church.
