Citizens Bank of Swainsboro has once again demonstrated its commitment to the local community by contributing $250,000 to Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) through the Georgia HEART Program. As a steadfast supporter of EMC, Citizens Bank continues to play a vital role in strengthening healthcare services for the area.

The Georgia HEART Program enables Georgia businesses and individuals to allocate their state income tax dollars to qualifying local hospitals like EMC. Contributions through this program have supported EMC’s recent growth and development, funding key initiatives such as the addition of colonoscopy services and an infusion clinic, critical nursing home updates, the acquisition of essential medical and surgical equipment, and the expansion of emergency services. Georgia HEART contributions have been instrumental in the expansion of EMC’s Emergency Department, set for completion by early summer, and the opening of Emanuel Medical Prompt Care, which offers walk-in medical care seven days a week.

“This generous contribution directly supports the continued growth and future of our hospital,” said Damien Scott, CEO of Emanuel Medical Center. “We are incredibly grateful for Citizens Bank’s ongoing support and investment in healthcare for our community.”

“Our Bank strives to help the communities we serve continue to thrive and prosper,” said Zac Frye, President and CEO of The Citizens Bank of Swainsboro. “This program allows us to direct our state tax dollars toward our local hospital to help provide quality healthcare and also to support the economic impact Emanuel Medical Center has on the area.”

The Georgia HEART Program offers a unique opportunity for taxpayers to choose where their state tax dollars are directed. By participating in Georgia HEART, individuals and businesses not only fulfill their tax obligations but they ensure that those dollars are invested directly into their community.
