Claude Hurley Dailey, age 84, of Summertown, entered into rest Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Georgia War Veterans Home in Augusta. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, December 28, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home in Swainsboro. Family will receive family and friends one hour prior to service.

Claude was born November 17, 1941, in Oak Park, to the late Claude Hendrix and Sara Mae Dailey. He proudly served his country and retired from the US Army as Staff Sergeant First Class in 1981 with numerous awards including National Service Medal (three campaigns), Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Over Seas tours and Rifle Marksman. After Claude’s military retirement, he worked as a Construction Foreman and Millwright before retiring in 2001. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dailey is preceded in death by his sons, Keith Allen Dailey and infant Cecil Hurley Dailey; siblings, Irma Nell Dailey, William Dailey, Gloria Dawn Dailey, Wilma Dailey and David Dailey.

Mr. Dailey is survived by his three children, Kelvin Lee Dailey (Lisa) of Summertown, Sara Jane Dailey of Waynesboro and Christey Michelle Dailey Blanchard (Bo) of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Clint Dailey of Cherokee Village, AR, Andrew Zachary Tant (Chayce) of Charleston, SC, Marshall Williamson (Kayla) of Summertown, Monica Lee Dailey Lemonds (Shannon) of Macon, Austin Williamson (Caitlin) of Summertown, Riali Elizabeth Duncan of Savannah, Dailey Miller Blanchard and Joseph Hammond Blanchard, II, both of Waynesboro; four great-grandchildren; his beloved sister, Patricia Goodman (CL) of Twin City; and several very special nieces and nephews.

Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
