The Swainsboro City Council held a called meeting on Monday evening, March 11, for the purpose of considering the adoption of the new Alcohol Ordinance for the City of Swainsboro. Present were Councilpersons Collins, Davis, Foster, Quarterman, Sconyers and Stafford. Mayor Greg Bennett was excluded from participation in the meeting due to conflict of interest. Mayor Pro Tempore Bobbie Collins conducted the meeting in which Councilperson Sconyers made a motion to adopt the new ordinance. Councilperson Foster seconded the motion, and a 5 – 0 vote resulted in its passage. The new ordinance goes into effect April 15, 2024. There was no further business reported.
