Historic preservation has been a part of the mission of the Daughters of the American Revolution from its beginning. Sharing their mission with the public and promoting historic preservation in the community is necessary and an ongoing endeavor. The Governor David Emanuel – Adam Brinson Chapter was privileged to honor two individuals who worked diligently to restore and preserve one of Swainsboro’s historic homes.
The home at 416 W. Church Street was built circa 1907 by Alexander Davis Coleman. It was purchased in 2014 by Enrich Design and Restorations. Randall and Tanya Bagwell worked diligently to transform the home into the lovely mansion it was one hundred years ago. In addition to the work on the structure, the Bagwell’s spent much time researching the lineage of the owners and their contributions to Emanuel County.
Chapter members enjoyed a delicious lunch and a tour of the home. Chapter Regent Kay Lewis and Chapter Historian Jill Briercheck presented Mrs. Bagwell with the local Historic Presentation Award Certificate and Medal.
