David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles fall to Bulloch Academy

David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles fell 6-4 to Bulloch Academy Varsity Gators on Wednesday, September 18, despite out-hitting them 11 to six. Kyli Bell and Payton Peebles each collected three hits for the Lady Eagles. The Gators were the first to get on the board in the first when McKenna Furnari singled, scoring one run. Aubrey Scott singled, which helped DEA tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. A single by Bell gave the Lady Eagles the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second. The Gators took the lead in the top of the third inning after Furnari homered to center field, Marybeth Mathis walked, and Maralyne Belcher singled, each scoring one run. Furnari earned the win for Bulloch Academy Varsity Gators. The pitcher allowed 11 hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none. Bell pitched four innings in relief for the Eagles. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and two runs (zero earned) while striking out two and walking two. Scott took the loss for David Emanuel Academy. The hurler went three innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking three. The Lady Eagles piled up 11 hits in the game. Bell went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Emily McRae collected two hits for the Eagles in three at bats. The Lady Eagles turned one double play in the game.
