DEA Eagles Middle School softball defeats Metter Middle School

DEA Eagles Middle School Softball team outsted the Metter Middle School Softball team 6-2 on Wednesday in Stillmore. MMS were the first to get on the board in the second when Abri C. drew a walk, scoring one run. DEA Eagles made the score 4-2 in the bottom of the third after Rayleigh Faircloth tripled, scoring two runs, Lexie Starley singled, scoring one run, and Bailey Duckworth drew a walk, scoring one run. Blakely Brinson earned the win for the Eagles. The pitcher gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Mary Bess Fields threw one inning of no-run ball for the Eagles in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking one.The Eagles accumulated eight hits in the game. Lexie provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Eagles with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Evie Moore, Lexie, and Rayleigh each collected two hits for the Eagles. Rayleigh led the Eagles with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting five walks for the game. Rayleigh stole five bases. As a team, the Eagles stole eight bases in the game. DEA turned one double play in the game.
