DEA Middle School Basketball teams season going strong

The Eagles middle school boys and girls’ teams had a busy week of basketball. On Wednesday, January 17th, the Eagles traveled to Bulloch Academy. The Eagles were unable to come out on top with a final score of 28-13 in the girls’ game and 37-15 in the boys’ game. For the middle school girls, Lyla Martin led the team with 5 points followed by Ava Williams and Emily McRae both contributing 4 points each. In the middle school boys’ game, Charlie McRae was the lead scorer with 5 points, followed by Karson Kettles with 4 points, and Jack Evan Fields, Eli Way, and Dalton Flowers each with 2 points.

On Thursday, January 18th, the Eagles hosted the Screven Christian Lions at home. The DEA girls were in control the entire time, never trailing in their 27-3 victory. Aubrey Scott led the team with 8 points. Ava Williams added 6 points, Scott Hall 5 points, and Milly Farmer, Rayleigh Faircloth, Lyla Martin, and Hensley Terwilliger each contributed 2 points. In the middle school boys’ game, the Eagles dominated from start to finish with a final score of 40-19 over the Lions. Karson Kettles had a strong performance adding 17 points to the scoreboard. Lake Woods followed with 7 points, Jack Evan Fields, Eli Way, Ben Griner, and Samuel Martin all pitched in 4 points each for the Eagles.
