DEA Beta Club took on State Conventions at all three levels during the first week of December. Our students in grades 4 – 12 competed in Savannah in multiple areas. We have several students headed to National Convention in Orlando this summer.

For the Elementary Division:

Blakely Johnson placed 4th in Performing Arts – Solo, Duo, Trio; Blakely Johnson, Adah Way, Finley Proctor and Sarah Beth Beecher placed 2nd in Performing Arts – Small Group; Blakely Johnson received a Golden Ticket to act as a Premier Performer at Nationals this summer

For the Junior Division:

Layla Clark won 1st Place in Performing Arts – Solo, Duo, Trio; Layla Clark, Farrah Williamson, Milly Farmer, Mary Bess Field placed 2nd in Performing Arts Small Group; Layla Clark, Mary Bess Fields and Milly Farmer all received Golden Tickets to act as Premier Performers at Nationals this summer

Senior Division:

Our Senior Division shined in Academic Competitions this year!

Addalyn Terwilliger – 2nd Place Psychology; Emily McRae – 5th Place Social Studies; Presley Gowen – 5th Place Spelling; Aubrey Scott – 3rd Place US History

While not all of our competitors brought home plaques or trophies, we had wins that didn’t come from awards. Our student body is small in comparison to the schools we were competing against; however our Beta Club membership continues to grow yearly! We have a large club size and of that we are proud! We also had students step out of their comfort zones and compete in areas that were totally new to them. For the first time in school history, we had groups compete in Robotics and Engineering. They didn’t bring home an award, but the experience has allowed them to prepare for next year and grow as teams!

David Emanuel will have groups and individuals competing at Nationals this Summer and we can’t wait to see them shine there! We extend our congratulations to these participants and our deepest thanks to the teachers, parents, grandparents, friends and supporters who make all of this possible. Our students are successful because of all that you pour into them. To see all of the pictures that were shared from Conventions please check out DEA’s social media pages.
