DEA Varsity Lady Eagles defeat Vidalia Heritage Academy Varsity Eagles

Aubrey Scott collected four hits in four at bats, as David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Vidalia Heritage Academy Varsity Eagles 15-3 on Thursday, September 12. Scott singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning. Vidalia Heritage Academy Varsity Eagles got on the board in the first inning after Miranda Morgan drew a walk, scoring one run. The Lady Eagles flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Addalyn Terwilliger that drove in two. The Lady Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Scott singled, Payton Peebles tripled, and Kaley Flowers walked, each scoring one run. DEA added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Kyli Bell hit a sacrifice fly, Peebles singled, Flowers singled, and Terwilliger hit into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run. Bailey McNure earned the win for David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles. The starter gave up one hit and three runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking four.

Maddie Riner took the loss for Vidalia Heritage Academy Varsity Eagles. The left-handed pitcher went one inning, giving up eight runs on six hits, striking out none and walking four. Scott threw one and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for David Emanuel Academy in relief. The righty surrendered one hit, striking out four and walking none.

The Eagles tallied 16 hits in the game. Terwilliger, Bell, Peebles and Flowers each drove in two runs for David Emanuel Academy. Emily McRae collected two hits for the Eagles in three at bats. Terwilliger, Bell, and Scott each stole multiple bases for DEA. The Eagles stole 10 bases in the game. The Lady Eagles were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
