DEA Varsity Lady Eagles take the win over Vidalia Heritage

Aubrey Scott put on a strong contact performance as she collected three hits in four at bats, as David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles 2024 defeated Vidalia Heritage Academy Varsity Eagles 16-2 on Thursday, August 22. Scott singled in the first inning, and singled twice in the second inning.

David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles 2024 got on the board in the top of the first inning after Scott singled, scoring one run, Kaley Flowers singled, scoring one run, Bailey McNure doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

The Lady Eagles scored eight runs on seven hits in the top of the second inning. Flowers grounded out, scoring two runs, Kate Yeomans singled, scoring one run, Carrie Johnson grounded out, scoring one run, Emily McRae singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Flowers singled, scoring one run.

The Eagles extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Johnson and Kyli Bell.

Scott earned the win for DEA. The righty surrendered zero hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Libby Clark took the loss for Vidalia Heritage. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, giving up 16 runs (five earned) on 14 hits, striking out none and walking none.

The Lady Eagles accumulated 14 hits in the game. Flowers drove the middle of the lineup, leading DEA with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Bell and Payton Peebles each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Peebles and Scott each stole multiple bases. The Lady Eagles stole six bases in the game.
