The Swainsboro Rotary Club held its weekly meeting on February 9 at Rustic Grill. The club welcomed Rotary Area Governor Tres Herrin and guest Lori Hicks. Members congratulated Sergeant at Arms Richard McNeely on recently being named Person of the Year, and Rotarian Ken Warnock discussed the newly announced Dongwon Autopart Technology project.
The program, arranged by Rotarian Justin Morris, was presented by Taylor Dekalb, who shared insights on beaver trapping and its importance to local infrastructure. Dekalb, who works with Emanuel County’s public works and roads department, explained how effective trapping helps prevent damage caused by beavers to county roads.
