Delories Turner Gillis, age 82, quietly completed her journey on this earth to join our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 17, 2025. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, February 23, at 2 p.m. at St. Philip Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Armstrong presiding.

Delories was born July 19, 1942, in Emanuel County, to the late Sarah Turner. Growing up, she attended Emanuel County Schools. Delories resided in Swainsboro and was a member of The Phillip Baptist Church in Soperton. She was untied in holy matrimony to the late Charlie Lewis Gillis, Sr. and to this union they had three children. Delories was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She and her husband enjoyed working together in his beautiful garden. Mrs. Gillis is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randall Ricardo Gillis, Sr.; and sister, Branda McKinney.

Mrs. Gillis leaves to cherish her memories with her daughters, Michelle (Sam) Gillis of Swainsboro and Jessica McKinney of Oak Park; son, Charlie (Ida) Gillis, Jr. of Swainsboro; grandchildren, R.J., JayLynn, Jareon, Destiny, Tateyana and Austin; brother, Clarence Turner of Oak Park; six sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
