On Thursday, the David Emanuel Academy Eagles humbled the Fullington Academy Trojans with a 41-6 victory. By halftime the score had already reached 34-6. It was all treats no tricks for the Eagles on this Halloween night!

Clayton Hood played an excellent game, rushing for 282 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. With his performance Thursday night, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 rushing touchdowns per game.

The Eagles were unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 384 rushing yards. That’s the most rushing yards they’ve managed all season!

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to David Emanuel Academy’s defense and their seven sacks. Much of the defensive work was done by Hood and Senior, Peyton Lee, who racked up four sacks between them.

Every week we name Players and Cheerleaders of the Week – this week our selections are:

Offensive Player of the Game: Sophomore, Tucker Free – Tucker stepped in for injured QB Richard Braddy in the 2nd Quarter and helped lead the DEA Offense to 403 Total Yards.

Defensive Player of the Game: Defensive Unit – The Eagles’ Defense held Fullington, a team that averaged 35 Points per game before Friday, to a season low 6 points. They gave up 73 Passing Yards, and -20 Rushing Yards on 50 plays. Coming into the game Fullington had averaged 171 Yards Rushing and 160 Yards Passing per game.
