East Georgia State College welcomes new and returning students to Bobcat Villas

East Georgia State College (EGSC) is excited to announce the successful move-in of new and returning students to Bobcat Villas on August 9 and 10. The campus was abuzz with energy and enthusiasm as students and their families arrived, marking the beginning of a new academic year.

Bobcat Villas, the on-campus housing facility, welcomed hundreds of students who will call the dorms their home for the upcoming academic year. Students and their families were greeted with a warm welcome from members of the women’s basketball team, who were there to lend a hand, answer questions about move-in and the college, and escort students and their families to their assigned dorms. The move-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the dedicated efforts of EGSC faculty, staff, and student volunteers.

The move-in days were just the beginning of a series of events planned for the first few weeks of the semester, aimed at helping students build connections and make the most of their college experience. The move in weekend events included a volleyball game under the stars, an Ice Cream Social, a new student breakfast, and a five-on-five basketball tournament. A series of orientation programs were held to help new students acclimate to campus life, including tours, meet-and-greet events, and fun activities.

Gage Dowling, EGSC Director of Housing, expressed his excitement for the new academic year, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome our new and returning students to Bobcat Villas. Our goal is to make sure all students have a place where they can rest, be safe, and allow them to thrive in the classroom.”

Bobcat Villas offers a vibrant living experience with its modern amenities and community-focused environment. The facility features four-bedroom, two-bath suites with a common living area and full kitchen. Each suite is fully furnished with modular furniture, cable, microwave, and refrigerator. Residents also enjoy access to the L.C. “Shot” and Jean Strange Clubhouse, which includes a game room, fitness center, and study spaces.
