ECI Beta members attend State Convention

National Beta members from Emanuel County Institute are celebrating their recent participation in the Georgia Senior Beta State Convention. They were announced as winners of the following competitions: Charley Mitchell placed 2nd in the Science academic test and 3rd in Black and White Photography. Lawson Frye placed 3rd in the Language Arts academic test, 3rd in Digital Portfolio, and 3rd in Speech – Division 1.

National Beta State Convention allows students the opportunity to compete in various individual and team competitions and opportunities to run for several leadership positions. These victories at the state level provide an opportunity to compete nationally. The National Convention will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, during the Summer of 2025.

Other students that competed and attended the convention were Hadleigh Henry, Amelia Meadows, Mason Collins, Jackson Cavannah, Dawson Goodman, Jayna Kearson, Wendell Coleman, Parker Frederick and Ethan Goodman. These students competed in Color Photography, Quilling, Mathematics, Creative Writing, Social Studies, Black and White Photography, Engineering, and Social Studies, respectively. Sponsors attending were Jessica Smith and Sondra Cowart.
