April 13
Deputy met with both parties on Hwy 80 East in reference to a verbal dispute.
April 14
Deputy had a vehicle towed that was abandoned for a week on Hwy 57 E. The vehicle had no insurance or valid registration.
Deputy responded to Blueberry Fram Rd. in reference to offender banging on the door and trying to force entry into the residence. Complainant advised offender was beating on the door and things on the back porch, and when the door was opened, offender tried to force his way into the house and threatened to beat one of the c/p’s. C/p’s stated offender was angry over something that was said days prior to the incident. Deputy tried to make contact with offender, but no one was home.
Victim stated he was buying a car from his cousin/offender and sent him $774 but he never received the vehicle. Victim later found out the offender was under investigation in Jenkins Co. for the same scam.
April 15
Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 57 East in reference to the caller’s ex-boyfriend banging on the door. Victim stated she told offender several times to leave her alone and he keeps calling her and riding by wherever she is.
Deputies responded to Falcon Trl. In reference to a verbal domestic between mother and son. The son stated he was at his mother’s earlier in the day and a short time after he got home, his mother was beating on the door stating he stole her lottery tickets and began to push him and hit him, and he eventually hit her back. The mother denies hitting him. While speaking with both parties, they would make comments to each other and begin to attempt to argue again. The son advised his mother gave him the $100 lottery ticket earlier in the day to get gas and his birth certificate and she agreed she did provide him with the lottery ticket. When asked about the other lottery ticket, the son denied having it. Neither party wished to pursue charges. The mother refused to pursue theft action and stated her son would return the tickets in a couple of days like he always does which led deputy to believe this is a recurring issue between the two.
April 16
Complainant called ECSO and stated offender keeps going to her residence and pulling up in her yard harassing her. C/p had already reported earlier in the day that offender tried to run her off the road and went to her residence, blowing the horn.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated someone went in her vehicle and took her pocketbook.
April 17
Deputies were dispatched to Leonard Ave. in reference to criminal trespass. Complainant stated she was awakened by the sound of her vehicles’ alarm going off and a motion light in the rear of her residence was on. C/p stated she spoke with a family member who lives nearby and was advised another car alarm was heard going off prior to the incident.
April 18
Deputy took a report in reference to a stolen Xbox.
April 19
Deputies received complaints about cows being out on Hwy 1 South.
Deputy was dispatched to SW Railroad Ave. due to a suspicious person with possible firearms sitting at the park. Deputy made contact with the suspect and victim. Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Det. Center for battery and cruelty to children.
Deputy was dispatched to Buckeye Rd. due to an irate male. Offender was attempting to run from the scene and was detained. Complainant stated offender got angry and frustrated and started to threaten c/p and pushed him to the ground multiple times. Offender was placed under arrest.
Deputy observed a vehicle with a non-working headlight, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver stopped partially in the roadway so deputy made a passenger side approach on the vehicle and the driver would not let down the window. Deputy had to speak to the driver through the sunroof and the driver asked why he was stopped. Deputy advised him of the reason for being stopped and the driver stated it was a rental. Deputy could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and walked around to the driver’s side and the driver provided his license. Deputy then asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and when was the last time he smoked. The driver informed deputy that there was a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle as well as a firearm and that he was a convicted felon but thought Trump had signed a law allowing convicted felons to possess a firearm. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
April 20
Deputies were called to Culbreth Rd. in reference to a domestic dispute.
Victim stated he is supposed to get his three children every other weekend from Sat. – Mon. but let them have Easter with their mother and when he went back to get them, she would not let him take them and the mother’s family started downgrading him in front of the children.
April 21
Deputy responded to a domestic on Big Creek Rd. While enroute, deputy observed offender on a side-by-side at the dumpsters and pulled him over and told him to go back to the house to discuss what happened. Victim walked out of the woods noticeably upset and shaking and stated she had to go to her neighbors to get away from offender. She was still scared and did not want to be seen by offender. Victim stated offender got home early from work and started arguing, then jumped on her and took her phone. Victim advised they began to fight and when she got her phone back, offender slapped her. Victim stated offender has a drinking problem and already has family violence as well as cruelty to children chargers pending in another county and that she was afraid to be around him and did not feel safe with him there or around the kids. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
