According to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office…

May 31

Deputy was dispatched to Angela Dr. in reference to an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. Prior to arriving, deputy located two male subjects walking in the roadway and made contact with them. One male subject identified himself as the complainant and stated the male with him had been on his property and approached him and some other people, asking random questions. C/p stated they did not know this person and he appeared to be under the influence, and when they asked him to leave, he became argumentative and belligerent. C/p stated he walked down the road with the male in an attempt to get him away from the others and his property. Deputy observed the male subject unstable on his feet and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The male stated he was going to see a friend and got lost and that’s how he ended up at c/p’s property. While speaking with the male subject, he changed his story several times to include that he was out for an evening walk and stated he is a resident of “Ms. Betty’s Care Home”, and asked to call her to come get him. Deputy made contact with Ms. Betty who stated the male subject was not a client of the care facility but did rent a trailer from her, and she declined to pick him up. Male subject was arrested for public drunk and became extremely belligerent. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail and continued to be loud, boisterous and pounding on the holding cell door.

June 1

Deputies responded to Blackberry Cir. in reference to an abandoned vehicle left in the roadway. Deputy made contact with the registered owner who advised the vehicle belongs to his stepson and the stepson’s girlfriend was using it to travel to work in Vidalia. Registered owner contacted his stepson who informed that the vehicle was supposed to be at his girlfriend’s work, and he was unable to get in touch with his girlfriend. At this point, it was determined that the vehicle could possibly be stolen. Deputy tried several times to make contact with the girlfriend with no contact. While riding the area, the girlfriend was found riding on a four-wheeler with another male. The girlfriend was asked to return to the vehicle and once on scene, she was advised of what was going on and informed her that the owner stated she could return the vehicle immediately and if not, the owner wished to report it stolen. Offender stated she would take it back, so deputy informed the owner that offender was taking it back and that she was located with another male.

June 2

Complainant stated he lost his tag.

Deputy responded to Hwy 57 East in reference to complainant hitting a deer causing moderate damage.

June 3

Complainant stated he found out that someone took his identity and opened a business account in another state and also a credit card through Citi Bank in his name.

Deputies were dispatched to Egret Pl. in reference to a possible burglary. Complainant stated she observed a male subject around her property and found a window busted. Deputies entered the residence and located offender asleep on the couch. Two windows were found to be busted allowing offender to gain entry to the residence. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail for criminal trespass.

June 5

Driver was traveling on US 1 South and left the roadway, going into the woods. Driver refused EMS treatment.

Complainant stated offender has a three-year TPO and keeps riding by her residence and talking about her all over town. Two witnesses have seen offender riding by c/p’s residence at times that he has a curfew on him and is not supposed to be out.

Victim stated she and offender went to buy a car, and she put $2,300 down. When her credit was run, it wasn’t good enough to put on the note so she told them salesman she didn’t want to do the deal if she couldn’t be a co-signer. Victim was on the phone with her son and while talking to him, the salesman gave offender the $2,300 back without her knowledge. Victim asked offender about the money, and he stated he left it with the salesman. Victim found out that the salesman gave the money to offender before they left. Victim stated she and offender got into a verbal dispute. Victim asked offender for her money again and he refused.

June 6

Deputies responded to a call for irate passengers on a bus. The bus driver/complainant stated they were traveling from Atlanta to Orlando and the bathroom on the bus was not working. C/p stated she asked the passengers not to take long on the restroom breaks and that several passengers were taking too long and she told them she would leave them, and they became irate and began to fuss and curse her out. Deputy spoke to all bus passengers, and they stated the driver would not give them enough time to use the restroom and was leaving an elderly and children behind and that’s when they were fussing because they didn’t think it was right, esp. since the bus restroom was not working. The driver was still adamant about removing three passengers because she stated they were the most irate and verbally abusive towards her. Deputy asked if they could stay on the bus and spoke with them and the driver and she agreed to let them stay on the bus.

Complainant stated someone cut the cable on his gate and stole items under his open garage.

June 7

Deputies were dispatched to Lindsey Rd. in reference to a dog attacking complainant’s puppy. C/p advised the neighbor’s dogs went into their yard and that this is not the first animal of theirs that the dogs have killed. They stated they recently buried their cat and another dog within a month’s time, and one of their puppies has just started healing from being attacked by the dogs. Deputy went next door and spoke with the neighbor who denied any ownership of the pit bulldogs and the dogs took up in her yard and she is scared of one of them. Deputy made contact with AC1 and advised the neighbor to call about having the dogs removed.

Deputy was dispatched to Old Swainsboro Rd. in reference to a civil matter. Complainant stated her neighbor had a logger cutting down her mother’s trees. Deputy walked the property line and saw one tree down on her side but the neighbor and logger stated it was already down, and they just moved it back on her side of the property line.
