According to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office…

March 31

Deputy got behind three vehicles with a heavy odor of marijuana. After following the vehicles, two of them pulled off into residences leaving one that still had the odor of marijuana coming from it. The smell became more intense once deputy rolled his windows down from just being cracked to fully open. Deputy made contact with the driver and was immediately hit by what smelled like body spray. After a few seconds, deputy could smell marijuana again and asked the driver how much weed was in the car. Driver pulled out a McDonald’/s cup with a small cigar full of weed. There was probable cause to search the vehicle where two handguns and a large mason jar half full of marijuana were found.

Deputies were dispatched to Stokes Rd. in reference to a possible domestic. Complainant stated her soon-to-be ex-husband started to argue with her and grabbed her and threw her down. C/p was able to get away from offender and he proceeded to break objects around the house. C/p stated she went to her room when she heard what sounded like guns being loaded and shots being heard from outside and she ran out the front door and got in her vehicle and when to her mother’s house. Deputies went to where the incident occurred and met offender driving down the road where they conducted their investigation. Offender stated an argument ensued and he grabbed an unknown amount of firearms and started to shoot outside in the back yard.

Deputy met with complainant at Hadden’s Trailer Park in reference to illegal dumping at two separate sites on the property. C/p stated both piles of debris collected from a deconstruction site on Lambs Bridge Rd. were dumped on his property by offender.

April 1

Complainant stated when the NexAir driver made a delivery, he hit the keypad to the gate causing it not to work.

Complainant stated he owns a farm on Hwy 221 and had two cows that had been shot. Inv. went to the location and determined that neither cow had been shot because there were no bullet holes in either cow. One was attacked by an animal and the other dies of what appeared to be a sickness.

Deputies were dispatched to Blackberry Rd. in reference to a domestic dispute. Victim stated her boyfriend/offender had been drinking and arguing with her and she told him to leave, and he grabbed her around the neck and pushed her into the door. Victim’s mother was at the residence and stated she witnessed what happened. Offender went inside and started saying he was just trying to leave because they had been arguing for so long and deputies could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from offender’s breath. C/p then showed a scratch on her neck and shoulder area that she said occurred from offender. Offender was advised he was being placed under arrest. During the pat down, four pills in a small clear bag believed to be Adderall were found on his person. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

April 3

Deputies responded to Long Bay Rd. in reference to complainant’s dog being shot by his neighbor’s. C/p stated he heard a gunshot and observed his dog running back in his yard with a bullet hole in the left shoulder. C/p advised his dog was trying to play with the neighbor’s dog. C/p was advised of the state of Ga leash law and nuisance animal law regarding these types of incidents and the neighbors were well within their rights. The neighbor stated she asked c/p several times to keep his dog on his property because it tears trash up in her yard.

Deputy was dispatched to Canen Cove in reference to criminal trespass. Complainant stated he found the hood up in his truck and the key was missing and believes unknown offenders have been trying to steal the vehicle and other property there.

April 4

Deputies were dispatched to Nunez Lexsy Rd. in reference to damage to a vehicle. Complainant stated her vehicle was parked in her front yard all day and she noticed gunshot holes in it when she went outside. Witness stated he heard loud gunshots outside his residence around 3 – 3:30 p.m. but did not see anyone.

April 5

Victim stated he hit a dog on Hwy 80 West causing damage to the front end of his vehicle.

Deputy received a call to Buckwill Dr. in reference to a dog bite. Complainant stated on a previous day, offender’s dog went up to him at his rental property and bit his shoe, but it didn’t’ break the skin. C/p stated the dog went back on the property and c/p was able to speak with the owner. Owner advised deputy that he keeps the dog in a pen, but he gets out. Deputy instructed him that he needs to reenforce the pen and get the dog an up-to-date rabies shot and made him aware of the Nuisance Animal Ordinance and advised him the if he could not keep his dog in his yard, he would be charged.

April 6

Deputies were dispatched to Pineora Rd. in reference to trespassers. Victim stated the neighbor’s kids keep going on his property and it has been an ongoing problem, even with reports being made in the past. Deputies then spoke with the juveniles and asked them to no go back on c/p’s property and to go around it and they said they would.
