According to the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office…

June 9

Victim stated she owns property on Hwy 80 West but lives in NJ and comes down once a month and stays for a week. Victim stated she has a gate up and it was open, and the lock was cut.

Deputies and SPD units responded to Deer Creek Dr. in reference to a male subject who was found submerged at the bottom of a residential swimming pool. Subject had been pulled from the pool by witnesses on scene and CPR was administered by SPD units. EMS trans-ported subject to EMC.

Deputy was patrolling the area of Robin Rd. when he observed a SUV with a dirt bike rider with no helmet or visible tag clinging to the side of the passenger window being towed. The driver crossed the double center line numerous times and continued across McLeod Bridge Rd. still towing the dirt bike rider. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the dirt bike rider let go of the SUV and the SUV continued a little further up the roadway. Deputy asked the rider what they were doing, and he stated his bike broke down and the SUV was helping him get home. Deputy made contact with the SUV driver and obtained his name and stated he did not have a license. Deputy was informed that that driver’s license was suspended, and he was wanted through SPD and Laurens County SO. Deputy then ran the dirt bike rider’s li-cense to find he was wanted through Millen PD. Upon observing the dirt bike, there were numerous cut wires, and it appeared to be painted. It also had two missing serial numbers. Both were transported to EmCo Jail.

Deputy was dispatched to George L. Smith State Park Rd. due to caller observing a SUV run-ning off the road into ditches and driving at a high rate of speed. Dispatch advised the driv-er parked the vehicle in the middle of the road and started to walk away from the scene. Deputy made contact with the driver. Once being questioned, she became extremely irate and started screaming and cursing deputy. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.

Offender was arrested during a search warrant on Mathis Ave. Offender was in possession of a stolen shotgun, Adderall, spoon and glass pipe.

June 10

Deputy responded to Harrison Dr. due to threats being made. Complainant explained that offender has been unstable since his mother passed earlier in the week and she and offender have been getting into multiple arguments, verbal and physical, due to offender’s bipolar and not taking his medication, which causes him to have spurts of anger. Offender stated he and c/p got into an argument due to c/p inviting multiple men over while he was not home. Deputy asked offender if there had been any other arguments and he stated there had been and c/p smacked him in the face and he grabbed her in a bear hug telling her not to hit him like that, and she did it again later in the day and he pushed her away from him causing her to slam against the wall. Once deputy gathered all info, he was able to separate them for the night and offender advised he would contact ECSO to set up an appointment to gather the rest of his belongings.

June 11

Deputy took a walk-in report in reference to a lost or misplaced tag. Complainant stated his vehicle was towed to Augusta and when he got it back, the tag was missing.

Complainant stated offender agreed to fix his pool with a new liner for $4,600. C/p gave of-fender $3,000 cash and they agreed he would pay the balance when the work was done. Of-fender promised numerous dates that the job would be done and has not even started the work. C/p stated offender will not answer the phone or texts and is ignoring his communi-cations now. C/p stated he just wants his money back and does not want offender doing the work.

Victim stated she lost her tag.

June 14

Victim someone destroyed his mailbox on Old Wadley Rd.

Oak Park Police requested assistance from ECSO with apprehending an aggravated assault suspect. Deputy was advised an aggravated assault with a firearm had taken place at Red-Roof in Oak Park. Offender was observed exiting a vehicle and firing a firearm at victim, then returning to the vehicle and leaving the scene. Officer was able to watch the video and obtain a tag and track the vehicle back to suspect’s residence. Consent was provided to enter the residence, and offender was not located inside, however, deputies were informed he was standing beside a utility trailer in the yard. Deputies were able to track offender through a wooded area but lost track after hours of attempting to locate him.

June 15

Deputies responded to Walnut Rd. in reference to victim stating he and his ex-wife/offender live on the same property in different residences and offender’s uncle went to victim’s resi-dence with two of offender’s children from a previous relationship to get in the pool. Offend-er went to victim’s residence to get the children and started cursing and threatening victim. Deputy spoke with offender was highly agitated.
