Elease Turner, Toney Golden-President Elect, and Verdell Brinson-President-Emanuel Retired Educators Association (EREA), attended the Georgia Retired Educators Association (GREA) Convention May 6-8, 2025, at the Augusta Marriott Convention Center. Wednesday morning, President Brinson and other unit presidents were recognized for the awards their units achieved this year. EREA unit received many awards and earned the yellow ribbon as a “Unit of Distinction.” Afterwards, she had the opportunity to take a picture with Dr. Connie Cooper-Past GREA Director Area 6 and Mrs. Gwendolyn Yarbrough-Current GREA Director Area 6. On Thursday during her last speech as GREA President for the 2024-2025 year, Shirley Grant thanked everyone for embracing her theme “Hats Off to Educators” as she visited units and the many hats worn at the convention.
