On Thursday, October 23, Family Connection partnered with Swainsboro Elementary School and PTO to host their annual Family Reading Night. Over 230 people were in attendance at the event. This year’s theme was “Halloween Escape Room” where students and parents worked together to solve literacy puzzles and followed clues to complete the activities required to “escape” the room. A reward of a tote bag and book from Family Connection, Mill Creek Foundation and Friends of the Library were given.
Then all were invited to a delicious soup dinner prepared by the SES staff. Students received treat bags from SES PTO. For further entertainment, all could view the many interesting personalities acted out in the Outlook Wax Museum. The fun night wrapped up with great door prizes being drawn and given to both students and teachers from Family Connection. The grand prize was a set of Beats headphones furnished by East Georgia Healthcare.
