Farlyn Hudson, age 62, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, December 20, at 11 a.m. at Jefferson County High School Gym with Pastor Delmus Mosley presiding.
Farlyn was born May 22, 1963, to the late Farris, Sr. and Jewel Miller Hudson. After graduation, she received her bachelor’s degree from Paine College, graduating as Magna Cum Laude in 1986. Farlyn had a passion for science and became the Assistant Biological Safety Officer of Medical College of Georgia. She was not just a well accomplished scientist and philanthropist, Farlyn was a daughter, mother and grandmother. Ms. Hudson in preceded in death by her parents; brother, Farris Hudson, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Earl Williams, Sr.,
Ms. Hudson’s legacy will live on with her children, Faraji Prator and Farath Prator; grandchildren, Mehira Cummins-Prator, Neveah Prator, Semaj Prator, Blake Linhardt, Major West, Brayden Prator and Jayci Prator; godchildren, Mariah Hill, Lashonda Hill and Lonnie Hill III; sisters, Lazelda Williams, Phrashunda Hudson and Shawana Lewis (Donovan); daughers-in-law, Jessica and Crystal; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
