On Wednesday, July 9, we hosted our Genealogy Club with Kaitlyn Capper, our Regional Genealogy and Local History Coordinator. If you missed her this time, don’t worry…you can contact her by email at [email protected]. Thursday, July 10, we held our Christmas in July celebration, and it was very rewarding to see family and friends making fun summer crafts in the comfort of the Christmas spirit. A special thank you goes to the Mill Creek Foundation for sponsoring our book-giveaway and the Friends of The Library for sponsoring the event of Christmas in July. Friday, July 11, we held Toddler Time with local author and illustrator Lacey Henneman and Kayla Jeffcoat as they read and signed their book titled, “The Adventures of Tiggy: A Trip to the Bahamas”. Remember, July 19, is the deadline for the SRP. Shortly after, there will be a drawing for the grand prize winners. Winners will be contacted by phone and asked to come to the library for a picture with their prize, and this will conclude the Summer Reading Program. Also, we have another ongoing color contest for the month of July, so please stop by the library to get your coloring sheet. For more information on upcoming events, closures, and more, follow us on Facebook or call/visit us at (478) 237-7791 or 331 West Main Street, Swainsboro.
