Twin City Lions Club held their December meeting Thursday, December 4, at Simply Southern in Twin City and enjoyed the delicious southern buffet. Lion Matt Donaldson and Lion G.W. Johnson invited newly appointed Sunshine House Executive Director, Haylee Free, to be the guest speaker. Free spoke to the club about the mission of The Sunshine House, what they specialize in and the counties the non-profit organization serves. The club was also informed of how The Sunshine House partners with DFCS, local law enforcement and the District Attorney’s office to help protect children and assist the government agencies. The Sunshine House is funded by the taxpayers but also heavily relies on private donations through their annual Giv-A-Thon and their local Dancing with The Stars event.
