Mr. Gary Ray Douglas, 64, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Memorial Health in Savannah. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 28, at 11 a.m. at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Reverend Rusty Moore officiating. Interment followed at Edenfield Family Cemetery. Family received friends Friday, December 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Durden Hudson Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were Hunter Clements, Dalton Clements, Charles Clements, Greg Phillips, Brian Douglas, Eddie Phillips and Adam Douglas.

Gary was born September 29, 1960, in Swainsboro, to the late Homer Lee Douglas and Mattie Jean Edenfield Douglas. He enjoyed being with family and loved cabinet work. Gary enjoyed visiting his family and riding on the boat and loved just being a papa to his grand- and great-grandchildren. Mr. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Eddie Edenfield, Wayne Douglas, Eugene Douglas and Bennie Douglas.

Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ferguson Douglas of Folkston; daughter, Nora McDonald (Ryan) of Woodbine; brothers, David Lee Edenfield of Swainsboro, James Edenfield of Worthen and Mickey Randall of Lyons; sisters, Teresa Kirby, Virginia Willis and Betty Jean Brantley; grandchildren, Savannah McDonald and RJ McDonald; great-grandchildren, Kasen Burgos and Wesley Bennett.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
