Girl Scout Troop 30854 speaks to Kiwanis

The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, July 1, at Rustic Grill at 6:30 p.m. With President Paul Cerpovicz presiding, they had 25 in attendance including 14 guests, Oskar Cerpovicz, Karolina Cerpovicz, Joelle Romanchik-Cerpovicz, Jacobi Thibodeau, Jim Thibodeau, Melissa Gulledge, Brandy Henderson, Chassity Boyd, Jenna Farmer, Joselyn Henderson, Wanda Wills, Eneida Smallwood, Terrill Booker and Jimmy Wedincamp. Deana Patrick won the carrot cake donated by Dianna Wedincamp, Karolina Cerpovicz won the Domino’s Pizza, Jeff Palmer won the Kiwanis umbrella provided by Jim Thibodeau and Dess Smith won the ginger snaps in honor of National Ginger Snap Day. Patrick reported on the Summer Reading Program Cookout at Franklin Memorial Library held on June 26, and they fed close to 100 people who attended the Cookout. The kids also enjoyed the SRP Color Powder Party as part of the Cookout.

President Paul introduced Girl Scout Troop 30854 and presented a check to the Troop to use in their program. Accepting for Troop 30854 were Girl Scout Leaders Melissa Gulledge, Brandy Henderson, Chassity Boyd and Eneida Smallwood, along with Girl Scouts Jenna Farmer, Joselyn Henderson, Wanda Wills and Troop Mascot Terrell Booker. President Paul introduced Jacobi and Jim Thibodeau, an interclub from the Statesboro Kiwanis Club, gave an update on the Little Free Library progress. He noted they would have four Kiwanians going to the District Convention, and Tim Goodman has tickets for the $5,000 Convention raffle for only $20 each.
