Grand jury returns 16 true bills, 2 no bills

The July 2024 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury reconvened on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with the Honorable Robert S. Reeves presiding. The grand jurors elected Justin Allen to serve as foreperson, Aaron Claeys to serve as assistant foreperson, and Vicky Patick to serve as clerk. The grand jurors and the bailiff, John Allen Bailey, were sworn by Judge Reeves as to their duties.

The District Attorney’s Office presented 18 bills of indictment to the Grand Jury, and the Grand Jury returned 16 true bills and 2 no bills.

True bills included:

Blake Lee Librizzy: Burglary in the first degree

Kevin Terrell Brown: Unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution (x3)

Dewannes Ronta Butler: Unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution; Aggravated battery

Susan Diane Atkinson and Lee Lewis Librizzi aka Jig: Possession of meth w/intent to distribute; Fleeing or attempting to elude police officer (x2); Driving with expired license; Driving under the influence; Possession of marijuana, less than ounce; Driving the wrong way on a one-way roadway; Possession of meth (Atkinson); Possession of drug related objects (Atkinson)

Kobe Juan Jackson: Driving under the influence; Failure to maintain lane; Possession of firearm by first offender probationer

Javier Rayquan Lakes: Unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution; Aggravated battery

Terry Leonard McMillan: Unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution; Aggravated battery

Deshaun Tyreese Lewis: Unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution; Aggravated battery

Jeffery Wayne Waters: Sale of meth

Tyler David Bedgood: Aggravated battery; Aggravated assault (x3); Criminal trespass; Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Bryan Aaron Willis: Exploitation of children (x6)

Tishaun Shaquez Williams: Possession of controlled substance w/intent to distribute; Possession of marijuana w/intent to distribute; Theft by receiving stolen property; Possession of firearm during commission of a felony

Jammal Doyle: Aggravated assault; Aggravated battery

Samuel Lee Morgan: Impersonating an officer (x2)

Anastasia Kayhola: Terroristic threats (x2)

Janice Marie Wadley: Aggravated stalking

No bills included:

Christopher Nakia Jones aka Pooh: Possession of schedule II controlled substance

Patrick Myles Kersey: Terroristic threats; Obstruction of officer; Driving under the influence (less safe)
