The April 2024 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury reconvened on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, with the Honorable Robert S. Reeves presiding. The grand jurors elected Robert Sturm to serve as foreperson, David Hill to serve as assistant foreperson, and Katrina Farley to serve as clerk. The grand jurors and the bailiff, Patrick Sweet, were sworn by Judge Reeves as to their duties.

The District Attorney’s Office presented 5 bills of indictment to the Grand Jury, and the Grand Jury returned 5 true bills and 0 no bill.

True bills included:

Gerrie Jarod Brown: Possession of schedule I controlled substance (bath salts/aminopropan); Possession of marijuana, less than ounce; Obstruction of an officer; Driving under the influence (less safe) (alcohol); Reckless stunt driving; Operation of unregistered vehicle; Operating vehicle without insurance; Failure to wear seat safety belt

Aaron Hall: Aggravated battery-family violence

Jamil Lekeith Jenkins: Possession of cocaine; Obstruction of an officer
