Gunfire breaks out at City Park

One person was shot late Sunday afternoon, May 26, in an exchange of gunfire at a City Park in Swainsboro. The incident occurred at a weekend event at the “Gerald Phillips Park” in the DeAlva Park neighborhood. Officers of the Swainsboro Police Department at the scene reported multiple gun shots in the crowd of more than 2,000 people attending. Authorities confirmed that two persons have been arrested in connection with the shooting – Danbonte Green of East Dublin is charged with aggravated assault, possession of fireman during commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen firearm; Quentavious Mercer of East Dublin is charged with aggravated assault, possession of firearm during commission of a crime.

The person injured by gunfire has been identified as Arman Myers of a Jacksonville, Fla address. She was transported to emergency medical facilities in Augusta and is reportedly in stable condition.
