Ms. Harriett Lee Hicks, age 68, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Visitation was held Tuesday, November 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. with services to follow at 6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home with Juanita Porter and Rev. Joe Bedgood officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Ms. Harriett’s grandsons and nephews.

Harriett was born November 10, 1956, to the late the late Harry Hicks and Margaret Carroll (Milan “Bud”) Clarkson. She was a graduate of the Swainsboro High School class of 1974. Harriett worked in food service for most of her life and loved preparing food made with love for everyone and her family. She enjoyed working and crocheting in her free time; not a single member of her family lacks a blanket that was made by her hands. Harriett especially adored her great-grandchildren and the time spent with them. Ms. Hicks is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Nicholas Ashton Guthrie; and brothers, Jimbo Carroll and Ronnie Hicks.

Ms. Hicks is survived by her children and their spouses, Sheree (Sean) Tuttle of Pooler, Angela (Maurice O. Reese) Guthrie of Louisville, Melva Nunn of Swainsboro, Tiffany (Andy) Edenfield of Swainsboro and Daniel (Samantha) Nunn of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Ann (Robbie) Arrington of Swainsboro; uncle, Billy (Edna) Carroll of Birmingham, AL; two special friends, Judy B. Lewis and Brenda Kirby; her beloved canine companion of many years, Rue; and many nieces and nephews.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
