The family bluegrass music festival, Headin’ Home Fest, is returning to Swainsboro this October! Dates are October 23-27, 2024, at the Georgia Sports Arena. What better way to enjoy the crisp fall weather than with banjos, fiddles, and guitars?

Hosted by the family band Headin’ Home from Bloomingdale, GA, Headin’ Home Fest is a five-day celebration of great bluegrass music, camping, jamming, vendors, food, and family fun! This will be the festival’s third year, and its second year in Swainsboro. The Georgia Sports Arena offers the perfect facility with its gigantic, covered steel pavilion, onsite restaurant, and 216 RV hookups. Day tickets and weekend tickets are available; come for a day or bring your camper over and stay the whole time to enjoy everything from the stage performances to the all-night campground jams!

The 3rd Annual Headin’ Home Fest will feature a world-class lineup of top touring bluegrass bands from all over the country: The Kody Norris Show, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show, Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, The Edgar Loudermilk Band, Backline, The King James Boys, Daryl Mosley, Deano Graham & The Grass Wagon Revival, Line Creek, The Brothers Five, and the festival’s host band, Headin’ Home. Other activities will include a variety of craft and music vendors, nightly raffles and prizes, a silent auction, instrument giveaways, and campfire jamming. There’ll be some delicious food served at the restaurant right beside the stage, with everything from crispy chicken fingers to blue-ribbon hamburgers and hot dogs. For RV-ers, the campground features spacious sites with water and electric hookups, and a clean bathhouse with showers.

Wednesday night, October 23, will kick off the festivities with a free 5 p.m. potluck dinner and open stage featuring local talent. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the stage shows run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Bring your lawn chair, bring your instrument if you want to join in the jamming, bring your children and grandchildren, and come join the fun! Tickets are on sale now at an advance price until September 24. Children under 10 are free, and youth aged 10-15 are half price with a paying adult! To make your ticket and campsite reservations, call or text Libby at 912-432-5885, or reserve online at headinhomefest.com.
