The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday, June 3, at the Rustic Grille at 6:30 p.m. With President Paul Cerpovicz presiding, they had 18 in attendance including seven guests, Oskar Cerpovicz, Karolina Cerpovicz, Joelle Romanchik-Cerpovicz, Jeanie Hunter, Jean Marie Hunter, Scotty Hattaway and Holly Hattaway. Deana Patrick won the cake, and Jeff Palmer won the Domino’s Pizza. Jeff gave the pizza to Jeanie Hunter, the young program presenter. In honor of National Egg Day and National Repeat Day, a dozen eggs were won by Karolina Cerpovicz and Scotty Hattaway. Cayla Scarboro introduced Twin City Elementary 2nd grader Jeanie Hunter, the program speaker for the evening. Jeanie read her essay that recently won 1st place in her class. Her essay was entitled “I Love my Puppy,” about her Vizsla named Leia. Scotty Hattaway, Emanuel County Area Representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), presented an overview of the FCA program in Emanuel County. The East Georgia FCA is headquartered in Vidalia and has a mission to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. Their relationships demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His word through integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence. President Cerpovicz presented a check to Scotty from the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club to support the work of the FCA and gave an update on the newest Little Free Library located at the Vann Community Center.
