The 78th Annual Pine Tree Festival and Southeast Timber Expo kicks off this weekend with the Rhythm and Pines Music Festival on Friday night, May 2, followed by the main event on Saturday, May 3, in downtown Swainsboro. Headlining the Rhythm and Pines Music Festival is the ever-entertaining Party Band of the South, the Swingin’ Medallions. Twin City native CJ Mincey will be making his debut at 6 p.m. at the Nordson Center, followed by Rhett Blount at 6:30 p.m. The Sams Drive-In Band is set to perform at the Fountain at 6 p.m., along with the Gospel Stage located in the vendor area.

On Saturday morning, May 3, start your day early with the Knotty Pine 5K, where runners of all ages will take to the streets of downtown Swainsboro! Don’t miss the Grand Parade at 10 a.m. Find a good spot on Main Street to soak in the festive atmosphere as floats and cheers fill the air. After the parade, prepare to be amazed by the Nerveless Nocks, who will dazzle you with their death-defying stunts.

As you stroll through downtown, immerse yourself in creativity by visiting the many arts and crafts vendors. Marvel at classic cars at the Southprong Timber Car Show, and treat your taste buds to mouthwatering delights from various food vendors ready to tantalize your senses.

Be sure to catch the captivating performance by the Showtime Canines at the Boneyard Pavilion—these acrobatic pups are sure to steal your heart with their incredible flips and tricks!

After the festival, head over to the Swainsboro Raceway, located off Highway 56, to experience the bustling atmosphere as drivers from across the U.S. race Dixie-style at the annual Pine Tree 100. Alternatively, you can wrap up the festivities with a bang at the 5th Annual Party in the Pines at the Georgia Sports Arena on Saturday, May 3. Jumpstart the excitement by attending their first show on Friday, May 2, starting at 7 p.m. You’ll witness the toughest cowboys and bullfighters taking on the wildest bulls.

You won’t want to miss a single moment of this exhilarating festival!
