Now we all know that you cannot do everything you want to do when you are a child living at home. You have dreams, you want to experience different things in life. Remember that the pleasure of life is not always safe for you. Therefore, your parents prohibit you from getting involved with things which are detrimental to you. So, what do you do? You wait for the time when you can leave on your own.
Well, you left, and things don’t go as you planned. They are not what you perceived them to be, so now you want to be out of your situation. The thought really is “I want to go home.” Even if you never had it, you have a longing for a place called home. Home gives you love, peace, warmth and a since of belonging.
A perfect example is given in Luke chapter 15. A father had two sons. The youngest son got his inheritance and left home. After everything was gone, he fell on bad times. This is when he had a yearning for home. He thought about the warmth, love and peace his loving father pro-vided for the family. There was nothing lacking in his father’s house. He thought within him-self, it’s time to go home.
Have you ever had that feeling? The feeling of wanting to have love, peace and warmth? Well, that is the feeling of, “I just want to go home.” Even if it is just for a moment. It gives you a release of dealing with everything else.
Well with life struggles, this is a good time to come home. Home is being restored with the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Also, I Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your cares upon him for he cares for you.” I just love the way Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call up-on him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord; and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
Yes, God is waiting with outstretched arms to receive you back home. It’s time to come back home.
