At the October 14, 2024 called meeting of the City Commission of Twin City, the City Commission voted unanimously to appoint Kevin Jarriel as the new Chief of Police. Chief Jarriel started with the City of Twin City on October 30th and was sworn in the same day.

Jarriel is no stranger to Emanuel County. He was born in Emanuel County and raised in Nunez. He is a 2003 graduate of David Emanuel Academy. After graduating from DEA, Jarriel started his career with the Savannah Police Department. He was employed by the Savannah Police Department for 19 years before leaving to take the position in Twin City. Most recently, Jarriel served in leadership positions in the narcotics and SWAT divisions with the Savannah Police Department.

On the appointment of Jarriel, Mayor Donaldson said, “We are lucky to have someone like Chief Jarriel working for the people of Twin City. His level of experience in law enforcement is impressive. I hope that the citizens of Twin City will reach out to Chief Jarriel and make him feel welcome.”

On his new position, Chief Jarriel stated, “I look forward to bringing my experience to serve the citizens and visitors of Twin City. My intentions are to lead, educate, and motivate the officers of the Twin City Police Department to provide the professional services of a modern-day police department the citizens deserve. I encourage the citizens to stop by and provide me with any suggestions, knowledge, or feedback that would better help me serve them as the new Chief of Police.”

The City will host a formal swearing-in ceremony for Chief Jarriel at a later day. The community will be invited to participate.
