Matt was born August 28, 1981, in Dublin, to James Roger Proctor and Sandra Wilson Proctor. He was raised in Swainsboro and graduated from Swainsboro High in 2000. All of Matt’s life, he was fascinated with driving a big truck like his grandpa and daddy did. After graduation, he went to commercial truck driving school and pursued a career as a truck driver. After a few years, Matt decided to purchase his own truck and became an owner operator. He loved trucking and made it a career for over 23 years. Matt became a father in 2006 to twin daughters, Kaibry and Layla, and they became the light of his life. Just last year, he met Meagan, fell in love, and they got married and were expecting a sweet baby boy at the end of this year. Matt enjoyed grilling out and spending time with his family and friends. He loved nothing more than putting a smile on people’s faces and making them laugh. Matt was a hard worker and gave it 110% every day. To know Matt was to love him, and we will miss him terribly. Mr. Proctor is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rufus and Artie Nell Edenfield; maternal great-grandmother, Sallie Mae Wilson; and paternal grandparents, James and Mary Proctor.
Mr. Proctor is survived by his wife, Meagan W. Proctor of Swainsboro; daughters, Kaibry Proctor and Layla Proctor of Summertown; unborn son, Hagan Riggs “Rig” Proctor; parents, Jimmy and Sandra Proctor of Swainsboro; brother, Mitch (Tammy) Proctor of Swainsboro; nieces, Emma Proctor and Finley Proctor; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
